Here's another French company that I've been wanting to try but due to their prices, I've often overlooked them. L'Occitane is considered more of a high end brand. They have their own shop and you can also find their products at Sephora and select department stores. They claim to use high quality products and fragrance as well as natural ingredients. They do have that quality and spa feel to their product, which to me is like a luxurious treat for my skin. Even though I've not used their products before I've played and tested some of them in store and they certainly left a good impression on me.
L'Occitane was on sale at Hautelook recently and I jumped on the opportunity. I mean when am I ever gonna get a chance to try them for a discount? I rarely stalk their store so I'm not sure if they even do sales.
I purchased a set shea butter of hand cream ($20.00) that come in 3 different scents: date bouquet, rose petal, and mango flower. These are limited edition. They are 1 oz each which is fairly small and convenient for on the go use.
Pivoine Delicate hand cream, $9.00. This one is bigger and contains 2.6 oz of product. Not sure if this was limited edition or discontinued. It smells really good though. It has a delicate floral scent.
Mango Flower lip balm, $4.00. This was also limited edition. Still available on L'Occitane's website for $12.00.
Pivoine Flora Shower Gel, $16.00. It's got 16.9 oz of product and comes with a convenient pump. They have an 8.4 oz bottle on their site for $20.00. The fragrance is pretty much the same as the handcream. Very soft and floral. I really like it.
Ultra Matte Face Fluid, $11.00. This normally retails for $26.00 and is still available on their site. It's for oily and combination skin. I'm hoping that this will help control the oil on my T-zone. There seems to be lots of positive reviews about it so I was very happy to get it for more than half off.
Ultra Rich Body Dream Date Bouquet, $9.00. It's limited edition but still available on their site for $22.00. Ok, I had no idea that this was going to literally smell like a date. Yes, the date fruit! It also has some oriental fragrance to it. I don't really like the scent. It's a bit too fruity sweet and oriental! I was so looking forward to it. The cream feels nice and luxurious though. It contains 25% shea butter, which is supposed to be very moisturizing. It's rich, not too thick, absorbs quickly, and doesn't feel greasy. I will have to layer another scent over it to make my nose happy. I almost didn't see it but it comes in a removable tub, which means you could reuse the tin without having to clean it up. I wonder if they sell refills if it comes this way? They should if they don't already.
I don't usually splurge on fancy body care products but heck when I can get them on sale. I definitely didn't want to miss the boat!
Every tried L'Occitane products? If yes, what did you like? If no, would you give them a try? Do you have a favorite brand of body care product?
