Formula X For Sephora - Law of Attraction and Thunder

About a week ago, I picked up these two new Formula X at Sephora and I was quite impressed and overwhelmed by how huge their new nail polish collection is. After swatching a few of them in store, my first impression was that they were easy to work with and the formula seems comparable to other high end brands. I brought home two of them just cause I couldn't help myself, hehe.

First off, packaging-wise I thought they were kind of meh! Ok, fine, I don't really like it. They look a bit bulky, squared, and look like the shape of a tombstone. I am relieved that the somewhat squared cap is detachable and that I don't have to hold it to paint my nails. The inner cap is easier to handle.

The brush is medium-small, round, and easy to use. That's perfect for me since I have smaller nails. Bigger brushes tend to make application messy for me.

Law of Attraction...oh what a name! It's got fine pale gold glitters and holographic sapphire glitters in a clear base. I love the contrast of the glitters in the mix. I think they make the perfect combo for attracting a nail junkie like myself. The formula wasn't goopy but the glitters in this polish are very dense so the brush picks up a lot of it. I'm sure that after using it for a few times, the formula is probably going to thicken up. On the swatch, I have just one coat over OPI Do You Lilac It. They spread out fairly evenly for the most part.

Thunder is a fun graffiti-like kind of glitters and I love the fact that the glitters are matte. The larger hex glitters are light pink and the rest is a combo of size between light pink and blue glitters. Again, the glitters are very dense and you can easily pick up a lot of them on the first pass. I didn't feel like the formula was thick at first but after doing these swatches and my daughter using it for a mani, it seems like the clear base has thickened up a little. I only did one coat over OPI Do You Lilac It and didn't have any trouble spreading out the glitters.

Overall, I really like them but at $12.50 a bottle. It's kind of pricey so I'd be a little bit picky.

Have you tried the new Formula X? What do you think of them?
