Sally Hansen Triple Shine Nail Polish Swatches - Hypnautical, Scale Up, and Sparkling Water

I've been seeing these new Sally Hansen polishes popping out at CVS, Walgreens, and Wal-Mart so I got curious and scooped 3 of them to try. They retail for $4.99 so the price was pretty reasonable.

Apparently, they are called Triple Shine because they contains a shield complex that protect the color and seal the shine for dull proof results. Sounds great but honestly, I do not find them any shinier than other nail polishes that I've tried so don't get your hopes too high about what it claims to do.

There is an outer cap that you need to remove before you can get to the inner cap. A feature, I normally see in high end nail polishes so it was a bit of a surprise. Each bottle contains .33 oz or 10 ml of product, slightly less than the standard nail polish amount.

The wand and the brush is pretty much the same as the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri nail polishes. I am so annoyed by this wide flat wand. See how there's barely any room for it at the neck of the bottle. That means that you have to be extra careful when dipping your brush back into the bottle or you can potentially wipe some product from the wand into the opening, which can create a mess and glue your wand to the bottle.

Hypnautical, Scale Up, Sparkling Water

Hypnautical has a light sheer teal base with small blue and green glitters as well as iridescent teal flake glitters. The flake glitters lay flat for the most part but you will get the occasional ones that kinda sticks out. It's a nice sparkly top coat and the brush picks up a decent amount of glitters within the first pass. The formula is leaning a bit on the thick side but still remains manageable. I used a clear top coat over it. I didn't think it was shiny enough on its own.

Scale Up has a sheer green base with small gold and green glitters and iridescent teal flake glitters. The formula is pretty much the same as Hypnautical, with the occasional sticking out flakie. I also added a clear top coat on the swatches. Looks pretty in the bottle but just alright on the nails.

Sparkling Water is no doubt my favorite of the bunch. It has a sheer teal blue jelly base with sparkling blue shimmers. In the bottle, you could see some pink shimmers but they are barely noticeable on the nails. Formula wasn't too thick or thin and applied easily but 3 coats was needed for opaque coverage.

Overall, there is nothing to write home about with the new Triple Shine formula. I think they're good but not all that and for the price, if you spot a color that appeals to you, it's worth checking out.

What do you think? Will you be trying a few of these?
