LA Splash Nail Polish Swatch - Golden Seahorse & Oceans Fairy

Hello there!

I thought I was going to work on some of my posts this past weekend but I ended up doing some errands and not getting much done. It is ridiculously cold here in the mid-west. O-M-G! It's got to be the coldest winter of my entire life. They say we're going to get windchill down to -40 Fahrenheit tonight. That's crazy! Unfortunately, I still have to drag my butt to work tomorrow and hopefully my car won't die on me.

I had this post sitting as a draft for quite a while now and it's about time I share it with you.

I I found these polishes at Bed Bath and Beyond a month or two ago and they were roughly around $5.00, which I find kind of pricey for a drugstore product with just 10 ml of product and an ok formula.

Golden Seahorse is a pale cool tone green with a pearly finish and small gold glitters. The formula is slightly thick but not goopy; however, the brush picks up a lot of product so you would need a good wipe or two so you don't end up with too much on product your nails. 2 coats for opaque and even coverage.

Oceans Fairy is a dark jelly teal green with small green and gold glitters. This one was thick and goopy and I had the same issue with the brush picking up too much product. The pigmentation is good but you'll need two coats for even and opaque coverage. A few drops of thinner might be good for this polish as well.

Maybelline Master Glaze Blush Stick Pink Fever - Swatch and Review

I picked up this new Maybelline blush from Walgreens a few weeks ago and as much as I was tempted to grab another one or two. I managed to just walk out of the store with this one. Is it just me or what but every time I see a new product display. I always want to grab the shade that the model is wearing.

Packaging

  • I like the fact that it comes on a stick packaging. I can just dab it on where I want it and then blend it without having to use my fingers to apply the blush.
  • .24 oz or 6.8 g. When I twisted it all the way up, I get about 3/4 inch of product.

Product
  • Pink Fever is a medium cool-toned pink with fine pearly shimmers and a satin finish. This shade may be more suitable for fair to medium complexion.
  • The first thing that I noticed when I swatched it was that it is very pigmented yet you can go from light to intense without any issue. Apparently, it contains shea butter and has a cream to powder texture. I love how creamy and smooth it feels on the skin. It's silky to the touch and glides and blends effortlessly.
  • You can use your finger to blend out the blush but I personally prefer using a brush for blending.
  • It lasts about 5-6 hours before I start noticing it fading and it is unscented though it seems to have a very faint smell that I can easily go undetected.

Final Thought

I love the texture of this blush. It's so pigmented yet blends out so easily and feels really soft and smooth. Typical cream blushes tend to be a little tacky but this one blends like a powder. It has a fairly decent staying power too though I wished it lasted a bit longer.

Rating: 9/10.

Price: $8-9
Availablity: Walgreens, CVS

Fyrinnae Haul and Swatches

I received my order back in December and the pictures have been sitting around all this time and yes I know it's time I stop procrastinating and share with you the swatches.

If you noticed on the picture above, I have also purchased 2 lip lustre samples but I will do a separate post for their review and swatches.

All the eyeshadow swatches were done over Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy for best result. Each samples are $2.25.

Arcane Magic Dark Fantasy - shimmer dark yellow green

Arcane Magic Madame & Eve's - shimmer dark teal green

Arcane Magic Mystical Hedgehog - shimmery blueish purple with teal shimmers. This is absolutely gorgeous! Definitely recommend you try out this color.

Enchanting Otters - shimmery medium green with fine rainbow colored shimmers. The rainbow shimmers is gorgeous over the green.

Immortality - dark purpleish base with multi-colored shimmers. The multi-colored shimmers are much prettier and vibrant in person.

Lorem Ipsum - shimmery cool blue with pale gold shimmers. It's quite a unique and gorgeous combo.

Monarch Butterfly - dark brown with reddish brown shimmers. I would probably have liked it more if it was a bit lighter.

Shinigami - dark yet vibrant purple with rainbow colored shimmers. Gorgeous purple. I really love how they have the rainbow shimmers in it.

Snow Leopard - shimmery medium brown taupe with fine red shimmers. It has a very nice smooth texture to it. Very interesting color. It's too bad the picture doesn't do it justice.

Wicked - dark bluish black base with teal shimmers. This one is also stunning and much lovelier in person.

Frostbytes - shimmery metallic silver with pale gold shimmers. It looks very metallic and it's got sparkling shimmers on top. Quite lovely. It's definitely not your typical silver eyeshadow. I received this as a free sample.

I did one last round of swatches last night and I dozed off right after snapping a couple pictures. I'm so bad. My favorite are 3, 4, 6, 8, 9 10, and 11.

Milani Sugar High Nail Lacquer - Swatch

TGIF!! I spotted this new nail glitter from Milani at my local CVS a few weeks ago and I couldn't help myself but bring this baby home.

Sugar High has a clear base and lots of small multi-colored glitters that reminds me of mosaic. The base wasn't too thin or thick and picks up a generous amount of glitters within one swipe. I don't have much trouble spreading them across the nail but if you're picky about where the glitters go then I would suggest you use a dabbing method. I like how colorful they are without being too sparkly.

MAC Heroine - Swatch and Review

I was stupid for letting this one go. Initially, it came out as a limited edition shade and I kept saying to myself that I don't need it but after it sold out and seeing all the gorgeous swatches and how bold and beautiful it looked on others, I was so envious!
Fortunately MAC (or it is fate?) brought it back and decided to make it permanent and I snatched it up as soon as it became available again.

Package
  • the standard MAC black lipstick tube
  • .1 oz or 3 g

Product
  • Heroine is a medium magenta purple with a matte finish. I was actually surprised at how much brighter it was on my lips because it looked dark in the tube.
  • In spite of being a matte finish, it is creamy enough to apply without tugging and actually feels comfortable. It's not very hydrating but it's not drying either. It packs a punch in pigmentation and can deliver full and even coverage.
  • I found that the color also stains. It wears strong for a straight 5 hours and then slowly fade but the staining power last for few more hours.
  • It has the signature vanilla scent that all MAC lipstick has.

Final Thoughts

If you love bold purple, if you love matte, if you want a long-lasting color, if you love MAC...You already know you need this shade unless you already own it. Luckily, it has been added to the permanent line so there's no need to fear that it would disappear anytime soon but don't wait too long if you wanna be a cool kid. It's on trend with the vibrant orchid color of the year.

Rating: 9/10.

Price: $15.00

Sparitual North Star - Swatch

I almost didn't buy it but the more I stared at it the more I wanted it. North Star is a medium purple with purple and pink shimmers and a grey undertone. What's interesting about this color is that it almost appear like a duochrome because it has such a gorgeous depth and dimension to it. It applies sheer but 3 coats is enough for opaque coverage. I did experience a bit of patchiness between the first and second coat so the third coat also help spreading the color even.
Love the color. The shimmers are a little more vibrant in person than in the pictures.

Price: $12.00
Available at Ulta.

Maybelline Color Show Frozen Over

Happy Monday!

I am currently craving for something rich, sweet, and creamy. I think after I am done with super, I am going to run to the store and grab myself a cake or pie or something like that.

Last couple weeks, I was at Target. I had a $5 gift card I needed to use so of course the first thing that came to mind was what beauty product should I get?

I spotted this pretty baby blue polish called Frozen Over. It's hard to see in the pictures but it has subtle pink and gold shimmers in it. I really wished the shimmers were a little more pronounced but nonetheless still pretty as it is. I had some trouble with the formula. It was sheer and thin, which gave me streaks and blotchy application. I had to do 4 thin coats to get full coverage, even so you can still see some areas lacking pigmentation. Best way to work around this formula is to use another color as base.

I believe it was $2.99 at Target. What do you think? Would you put with the formula?

Wet N Wild Vicious Highshine Lip Stain Throwing Shade A310 - First Impression Review and Swatches

I was at Walgreens on Saturday, killing some time and picking up some snacks before taking my daughter to the school talent show, which she also performed in. I managed to pick a few beauty items along the way too.

Among those few items, I got this Wet N Wild lipgloss. I wasn't in the mood to do a full review and I'll tell you why in a second.

First, when I opened the plastic seal, I realized that it broke at the neck so evidently, I knew I was gonna have to take it back. While I have it, I figure let's just swatch it and test it to see if I like it enough to replace it.

I picked up the shade Throwing Shade, which is a medium fuchsia with no shimmers or glitters. When I swatched it on my arm, I was quite excited because the color was gorgeous. It had a nice pigmentation. It wasn't fully opaque but a little more than halfway there. I noticed that it did stain but just a little. Then I smelled it and eww I did not like. I think I can tolerate most cosmetic fragrance but this one was a no go for me. It's hard to describe. It smells a bit like hairspray/hair gel.
Then when I put it on my lips that's when all my excitement went out the door. The color was patchy and the formula was thick. Now, I don't mind thick glosses. I have my share but this one is something else and does not feel right. It was gooey and sticky. Just very uncomfortable. When I press my lips together, I can feel and see the goo pulling apart as I open my lips. That was it for me.

I could not stand the way it feels on my lips. It's just gross. I took it off immediately after I got the picture. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I am officially turned off by this new Wet N Wild lipgloss line. It was somewhere around $3.00. Pretty affordable if you dare to give it a try. I don't know if the formula is the same with the other shades but I am not tempted to try the rest.

Have you tried it? Do you like this more than I do?

Anyways, I wanted to end this post on a good note by sharing a picture of the glorious sunset I was fortunate to witness last Saturday. This picture was taken outside of my daughter's high school with my phone camera.

Essence Metal Glam Frosted Apple - Swatch and Review

A couple weeks ago, I was naughty and I went shopping at Ulta, and I went over my budget for the month of January so now I have to try really hard to keep on track for February. Ok, now that I have this guilt off my chest I want to talk about this new eyeshadow.

Packaging

  • The packaging is simple and round. Nothing to write home about.
  • .09 oz or 2.7 g

Product

  • I must admit that the first thing that caught my eyes was the lovely shimmers inside. Frosted Apple is a light cool tone rose with gold shimmers. There's definitely an overspray finish on top to give it that gorgeous sparkly glow but in spite of that the underneath color still retains some of that shimmer, just not as pronounced.
  • So I can't figure out if this is a cream or powder. It feels like a cream yet looks like a powder when applied. I can't pick up or apply the eyeshadow with a regular eyeshadow brush. The only way I can make it look decent is by applying with my finger.
  • The pigmentation was average. It definitely needs a primer for better color pay off and intensity. I have to swipe my fingers a couple time to get the desired color payoff I wanted.
  • When paired with a primer, I was able to get 6-7 hours of wear. After that there's some slight fading.

Final Thought

This is sort of like a cream to powder hybrid kind of formula and you will need to work it with your fingers for best result. I don't love the formula but I can deal with it because I like the color. It's beautiful and suitable for daytime wear, plus last fairly well with a primer.

Rating: 7.5/10

Lipgloss Swatches (16 shades) - Plums and Berries and Everything in Between

Not too long ago I posted lipsticks swatches for shades of plums and berries, you can check it out HERE if  you missed it. Today, I bring you the lip gloss swatches.

Illamasqua Intense lipgloss Hermetic - a very pigmented burgundy, leaning a bit more brown. Formula is thick and applies a bit unevenly but so gorgeous with that garnet shimmer in it.

Illamasqua Sheer lipgloss Tantrum - a semi-sheer purple-ish pink shimmery gloss.

MAC Dare to Wear lipglass Ban This (limited edition) - thick, pigmented, medium magenta with super sparkly pink and blue shimmers. Ban This was limited edition but Milani Haute Flash in a flash lipgloss is a spot on dupe, which I forgot to include here but it is available at select stores and CherryCulture.com. This is such a sparkly and intense gloss. The one that screams "hey look at sparkly lips" lol.

Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss Adorned (limited edition) -bright berry pink gel-like gloss with lots of pink and purple shimmers.

Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss Embellished(limited edition) - semi sheer reddish/brown plum color with subtle pink and purple sparkly shimmers.

Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss Bordeaux - semi sheer raspberry or pinkish plum. The color is so close to Embellished but it is just a bit sheerer and pinker.

Maybelline ColorSensational High Shine lip gloss Mirrored Plum - medium pinkish purple color with a nearly opaque coverage when you layer it.

LA Colors lipgloss Blazing Violet - nicely pigmented magenta fuchsia with subtle blue shimmers. Such a lovely color. I think it may be discontinued but you can still find it online.

L'Oreal LeGloss The Queen's Shine (limited edition) - semi sheer fuchsia with subtle shimmers.

Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquer Galaxy - mauvy plum with a bit of shimmer in it and almost opaque coverage.

Wet N Wild Glassy Gloss A Glass of Shine (limited edition) - It's a dark berry red with pink shimmers. I was so impressed with the pigmentation and the color is just stunning.

Maybelline Color Elixir Raspberry Rhapsody - semi sheer cool tone pink with subtle blue shimmers.

Fyrinnae Lip Lustre Saloon Girl - shimmery burgundy brown. Applies like a gloss but has more of a lipstick finish. I have yet to review it.

Lime Crime Carousel Gloss Present - a lovely raspberry red with pink shimmers

L'Oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaire Plum Adagio - a deep plum with purple and brown undertone and subtle pink/purple shimmers. Such a gorgeous color. I'd wear over a dark lipstick for a more intense look.

My personal favorites are:

L'Oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaire Plum Adagio

Roses Are Red, Violets Are Blue. I've Got 20 Shades of Red Swatched Just For You

Like the cheesy title? I couldn't help myself. Valentine is just around the corner so I thought I should spoil you guys with some red lipstick swatches. Who knows maybe you'll fall in love with one or two or more, which is perfectly ok as far as lipstick is concerned, right?

Do you or would you wear red lips for Valentine? I would if I'm single (well actually I am) but if I was with someone, I'd probably would have to wear a bullet-proof red or a subtle color that won't transfer so I can smooch as much as I want without it looking obvious, hahah. Don't want to leave any evidence behind. I know most guys don't like that and you don't want people to look at you two funny.

NYX Matte Lipstick Bloody Mary - bright pink red. Nice creamy and comfortable formula with opaque coverage.

NYX Matte Lipstick Merlot - muted berry red, not too dark or too bright, with cool undertone and full coverage.

NYX Black Label lipstick Cherry - reddish brown with a slight warm undertone and a glossy finish. Semi opaque.

MAC Pro LongWear Perpetual Flame - medium berry red with a satin/matte finish and full coverage. It has a creamy texture at first and then when it sets it feels a little drier and can last up to 7 hours.

Estee Lauder Pure Color Gloss Stick Cherry Ice - This is definitely more like a gloss in a stick. It's very slick and yield a semi opaque coverage. The shade is a warm red with gold shimmers. I like the hydrating formula. I believe it's discontinued but I found mine at the CCO store.

Illamasqua lipstick Drench - berry red with a satin finish. It's a lovely and muted red, perfect for those who want to wear a low key red shade.

Yves Rocher Grand Rouge Rouge Vif - The Grand Rouge lipstick formula is among my favorite. It's very hydrating and feels luxurious without the luxury price tag. Rouge Vif, as the name indicate, is a vibrant cool tone red that yield full coverage.

Motives lipstick Raspberry Burst - definitely one of my favorite reds. The formula is fantastic and the color payoff is just as great. This is a vibrant berry red shade.

Revlon Superlustrous In the Red - earth red with warm brown undertone and a nice pigmentation that yield full coverage. It's a matte formula but this one applies nicely without tugging or feeling dry.

Revlon Superlustrous Scarlet Velvet - very close color to In The Red but it's a cream finish and a bit lighter color and texture.

NYC Ultra Moist Lip Wear 305B Ruby - They weren't kidding when they labeled it ultra moist. I was pleasantly surprised at how moisturizing and comfortable these lipsticks feels for the price point. Ruby is a light pinkish red with a lot of gold shimmers and a frosty finish.

NYC Ultra Moist Lip Wear 308B Retro Red - it's actually more of a neutral red but it appears slightly warmer on my skintone. It's very pigmented, creamy, and comfortable.

Revlon Matte Balm Standout - neutral matte red. Not too bright or too dark, just perfect. I love the color.

Jordana Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stain Rock n Rouge - a cool toned bright red cherry color. Looks juicy and a bit glossy. Love it.

Bite Beauty Cranberry - slightly darker red with a bit of berry undertone to it. Super pigmented, creamy, and hydrating. It is labeled as matte but I find it more of a cream finish.

NYX Jumbo Lip Pencil Deep Red - dark red with a warm brown undertone. The formula is a bit slick and shiny, which transfers and bleed easily. Otherwise, it's nicely pigmented. Definitely recommend a lip liner with this lip color.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar NSFW - this is the kind of red that makes you go wow! Super rich and intensely pigmented neutral red.

Hourglass Opaque Rouge Icon - Gorgeous berry red with a long lasting wear. The formula could use some improvement though.

Lime Crime Velvetine Red Velvet - fabulous neutral matte red that is suppose to have a long lasting and non-tranfer formula. I have yet to review it.

Rimmel Lasting Finish 107 - deep berry red matte. Formula is a little blotchy but not very noticeable.

My personal favorites:

NYX Matte Lipstick Bloody Mary
Motives lipstick Raspberry Burst
Revlon Matte Balm Standout
Jordana Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stain Rock n Rouge

7 Fabulous Red Lipglosses and Swatches

Happy Sunday everyone!

This is the last batch of lip swatches. Well not really, I mean that I won't be doing another lipstick/gloss swatchaton for a little while. It was fun but a lot of work to put them together. I still got my nudes, browns, corals, and pinks....yikes! I tossed out a few lipsticks last month because they've gone bad and that's when I realize that I needed to get everything swatched before they expire.

These are all the red glosses that I own. Not a big collection there and it's probably because I have a love and hate relationship with them but I think they are all amazingly gorgeous. I love red lips for sure. It's such a classy, elegant, and at the same time bold color to wear on the lips. What I don't love is that they are a little messy, bleeding, transferring, and they get on my teeth, which annoys me to no end. The truth is I wear them very rarely. It's such a shame because these swatches just reminds me of how beautiful they look.

Do you rock red glosses? If yes, tell me which one is your favorite red gloss.

Small Haul and Bargains

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share with you a few items that I picked up over the past couple days. I'm trying really hard (perhaps not hard enough) to stay within my budget. I blew it last month but trying to keep it under control this month. Although I've become more aware and more selective about the stuff that I pick up, it's amazing how little things add up in a month!

St. Ives Even & Bright Pink Lemons & Mandarin Orange Scrub - I am a little obsessed with facial scrubs. This is roughly around $5.00 and I picked it up from CVS. I opened the cap to sniff the product and once I did that, I knew I had to have it. Smells so good! lol. Fruity and fresh. I just had to try it for myself.

Dead Sea Essential by Ahava Aloe Vera body lotion ($7.99) - got this one from TJ Maxx. It is formulated with dead sea minerals and aloe vera. It has a pleasant fresh scent, absorbs quickly, and feels moisturizing.

Epielle Facial Essence Mask Green Tea & Aloe ($2.00) - I spotted these new masks at Big Lots. You get 4 one time use sheet masks in one package. It's very inexpensive and I wanted to try it out to see if it can compare to the Asian sheet masks I've tried before.

Revlon Diamond Lust Night Sky - it was $1.20 and I also got it from Big Lots. It's a dark grey shimmer eyeshadow with lots of silver and rainbow colored sparkling glitters. So sparkly and pretty! Stay tuned because I have a makeup look coming up featuring this eyeshadow.

Revlon Colorstay nail polish French Roast - got this for a bargain at Big Lots for $1.50. This is a rich chocolate brown nail polish and it has fine rainbow colored shimmers in it. Quite unique. I don't have anything like it so I had to get it.

Smoked Purple With Diamond Lust Night Sky Makeup Look

I'm way overdue for another makeup look so when I swatched Night Sky the other day, I was like ok, let's do a makeup with it.

Night Sky is a dark shimmery grey with small sparkling silver and rainbow colored glitters. So basically, this is like a disco ball in an eyeshadow. Pretty cool eh? Now these Diamond Lust can be problematic if you don't have the right tools. You need a tacky base in order for them to stay put. Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy is like my best friend when it comes to pigments and naughty glitters. I would be lost without it.

Ok here's what I'm wearing for this makeup look...

Face
  • Maybelline Master Glaze Blush Stick Pink Fever
  • Sally Hansen Luminous Matte pressed powder for contour

Eyes
  • I first started with Lorac Behind The Scene eyeshadow primer all over eye lids.
  • I applied Ulta Extreme Wear Gel Eyeliner Smoke as a base on my lids.
  • I applied and blended Fyrinnae Parental Advisory on the crease
  • over Parental Advisory, I added a bit of Coastal Scents hot pot S06 to give it a soft pink transition toward the brow bone
  • on the brow bone, I applied Coastal Scents hot pot ME14 from the Winterberry palette, which is a light frosty pink
  • I applied a bit of Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy over the grey base and then pat Night Sky over it.
  • I lined my upper lash line with Rimmel Glam'Eyes Black Glamour
  • Lined my lower lash line and waterline with Rimmel ScandalEyes Eyeshadow stick Blamed Blue
  • I also added Sephora Waterproof Jumbo Liner grey on the outer part of the lower lash line and smudged Parental Advisory over it.
  • I applied  Ardell Color Impact lashes Demi Wispies Blue
  • For my eyebrows I used Illamasqua cream eyeshadow Intrude and Anastasia Tinted Brow Gel Espresso.

Lips
  • The eye look is bold and sparkly so I decided to keep the lips simple and understated with MAC Lipglass English Accents.

theBalm Vanilla Oil-Absorbing Face Moisturizer Review

I am pooped...like seriously! Fortunately, I got a few post pre-drafted already so not much left for me to do. I'm putting together a procedure manual for work...well actually 3 of them. Most of them have been completed by my team members but I have to read, edit, and complete the final draft. I'm sick of looking at it but it's due by the end of the week and I'm like half way there. It amazes me how much we do and we know when we have to write a how to manual. I told my co-worker. If we gave it to someone to learn, they'll probably run out the door and never want to come back. It's so much easier to just show and tell than writing every step of the way. Anyways, why am I still talking about work? I'm home now and I should think about other things like finishing up this review.

I have been using this moisturizer for 2 or 3 months already and it's time to tell you what I think of it.

Packaging

  • Frosted glass with a pump applicator. I like having a pump for my skincare products but this pump requires more pressure and because of that I find it hard to control the amount of product coming out of it.
  • 1.52 oz or 45 ml

Product

  • The texture is leaning on the thick side and it absorbs very quickly. Perhaps a little too quickly. I wished it gave me a little more time to spread the product but it sinks in immediately where you rub it and because of that I think I'm using a little more product than I normally would.
  • In spite of the thick texture, it didn't feel heavy or greasy and it did a good job at keeping my skin moisturized.
  • It's supposed to absorbs oil. It does mattify my skin when I first apply it but it doesn't do much to control oil later on during the day. I still get oily on my T-zone in the afternoon.
  • It contains no SPF so you'd probably want to pair it with a foundation or BB cream that has it.
  • It has a pleasant vanilla scent that isn't too overwhelming.
  • Paraben free and cruelty free

Final Thought

It was just an ok moisturizer for me. I didn't like the thick texture and the fact that it doesn't really control oil. The mattifying effect only last a couple hours and the pump is hard to control.

Orly FX Swatches - Can't Be Tamed and Rockets Red Glare

I need a vacation and I need Spring to be here already. It's been a rough winter. My car is filthy with the aftermath of salt mixed with snow and dirt splattered all over it. Every time, I think about taking it to the car wash, we anticipate more snow. On the brighter side, I always have some pretty polishes to cheer me up.

On my last trip to Ulta, a couple weeks ago, I scooped these two Orly Glitters that were on clearance. I used my 20% off coupon and was able to get them for $3.99 each, which isn't bad.

Can't Be Tamed has dark purple hex glitters and smaller silver glitters in a clear base. I found the base to be rather thin so the brush doesn't pick up a whole lot of glitters therefore you have to dip it a couple times in order to pick a fair amount of glitters. With this one, you'd need to dab the glitters if you are picky about where and how you want them spread out. I swatched it over Sparitual North Star, which I also picked from Ulta. Coincidentally, they make a perfect pair.

Rockets Red Glare has medium and small vibrant red glitters in a clear base. The clear base is not too thick or thin. The glitters spread out easily but if you are picky about where you want the larger glitters, you'd need to dab or move it around before the polish dries. I paired it with Rimmel Gold Save The Queen

Rimmel Glam'Eyes Liquid Eyeliner Black Glamour - Swatch and Review

Hi everyone,

I hope you had a nice valentine. I didn't do anything special. I dropped off my son to the anime con in town after work, at that time it was rush hour and we almost got into a car accident on the freeway. Some idiot nearly rear-ended me during traffic. I saw him coming from quite a distance on my rear view mirror because the headlights were approaching fast. I knew he could've stopped but he was driving too fast and probably didn't pay attention that traffic was slowing down. Then I heard the tires screeching, my back got stiff, and I was sweating bullets. I lost my cool and cussed the crap out of him in my car, lol. In all seriousness, I try to avoid being around careless drivers but when you're stuck between cars there's nowhere to go to avoid collision other than pray. Fortunately, I think what saved me was the fact that I had a bit of space between the car behind me and the car in front of me so I tried to move as close to the car in front of me hoping that the moron behind me have enough room to break before effin up my car. Phewwwww! It was pretty close but it still didn't stop him from trying to dodge through the traffic...bastard!

I don't know if this eyeliner is new but it's new to me because I've never noticed it before, lol. I picked it at Walgreens last week. I don't really need a black eyeliner right at the moment but I was curious and wanted to give it a try. I use black eyeliner religiously so getting another one wouldn't hurt.

Packaging

  • Sleek and black. I like that. It's a dip and line eyeliner with a fine brush applicator. The brush applicator is perfect for me. It is the perfect size and has the right length and flexibility to create fine lines. You can definitely create thicker line if you layer it a couple times.
  • .11 oz or 3.5 ml

Product
  • The formula is not too thick or thin and is very pigmented and black. Takes about a minute to dry and look matte when dry.
  • I like the fact that the packaging gives me control over how much product I can pick up with the brush.
  • What I like about the formula is that it doesn't smear, transfer, or budge for up to 8 hours. It is not waterproof so if you tend to have watery eyes or rub your eyes occasionally, this liner certainly will fade quicker.
  • I think the only con I can think of is sometimes you can get the product on to your eyelashes but if you're careful and have a steady hand, it won't happy much.

Final Thought

Personally, I find this liner very easy to use. Had this been a waterproof formula, I think it would have been an HG product for me but for what it is I am quite pleased at what it can deliver for the price. The brush tip applicators are the best when it comes to creative that sharp crisp winged flicker.

Femme Couture Eternal Intense Silky Shadow Color Aquamarine - Swatch and Review

A couple weeks ago I was at Sally Beauty Supply and noticed these new eyeshadows from Femme Couture. There was 8 shades in total but Aquamarine is the one that stood out of the pack.

Packaging

Product
  • Aquamarine is a very frosty shimmery light silver blue with teal shimmer sparkles. The moment I saw it I was like wow I likey! I take home!
  • I anticipated that the formula would be similar to the Infallible eyeshadows, given the way it was packaged. It feels creamy and buttery when I touch it but it goes from creamy to powder as I swatch.
  • The pigmentation is a bit sheer and can be build up to a medium coverage. You can wear it alone for a soft sparkling glow or you can wear it over a colored base for a more intense color. It can be applied wet for a better color pay off.
  • It definitely needs a primer or base in order to keep the pigments in place. It is a bit loose and flaky so you want to just pat it when applying.
  • I get a bout 8 hours of wear with a primer without creasing. As long as you're not touching or rubbing your eyes, the fading it minimal.

Final Thought

I like the color. Not sure if I have a dupe for it. I don't think it's the kind of color you'll see often. I like the creamy texture but I wished it was more pigmented. I don't mind working with it though. It definitely looks better over a colored base.

i.Fairy Casper Blue Lenses Review (From Lens Village)

check out this makeup look HERE

I was contacted by LensVillage a few weeks ago asking if I would review a pair of contact lens for them and of course, I gladly accepted the proposition because I love circle lenses plus it also gave me another opportunity to see what other website offers since I don't really shop around.

Lens Village is definitely got my attention when I visited their website. First off, they have a huge, I mean huge selection of style and color. The website is easily to use, navigate, and find what you're looking for. They carry popular brands like Geo, Dueba, and EOS. They also accept Paypal. They offer free shipping for orders over $50 and they also have reasonable standard shipping rates if your order is less than $50.

I had such a hard time picking out the lens I wanted to try and then I went ahead and selected the i.Fairy Casper Blue lenses. They are priced at $22.00 a pair and are also available in grey, brown, violet, and green. Somehow, I just find the blue more appealing this time.

Here are the specifics of the lenses:

Diameter : 16.2mm
Base Curve : 8.6mm
Center Thickness : 0.04mm
Water Content : 55%
Lens' Lifetime : 1 Year Disposable
Power Range : -0.00 ~ -8.50 Degree

I was drawn to these lenses because the style and color is different from what I've seen before. They have 4 colors: yellow at the center, blue in the middle, purple on the outer, and black around the edges and all around. They looked very interesting and lovely on the model.
My first concerned was the size of the lenses. They are the largest I have ever tried. I mean they are flipping huge! And my second concern was that they might look weird and unnatural on me. Oh well, I decided to take a chance with it anyways.

It took a few weeks for the lenses to arrive and they also include a cute animal contact lens case. I first took them out and soak them into regular lens solution for a few hours before putting them on.

I didn't really have any trouble putting them on considering the size. They looked thin and also felt thin and very comfortable on my eyes. Yes, they are surprisingly comfortable for being so big. I wore them for a couple days for more than 10 hours and had no issue or discomfort.
Also, I was very pleased when I put them on that they didn't look weird on me. The color pay off is pretty good. They are very opaque, colorful, but not too vibrant, which makes them easy to wear for any occasion. They look just fine with minimal makeup but even more stunning with a bolder makeup look. I even wore them to work and one of my co-worked complimented that they looked lovely.

My overall experience is that I'm very pleased with the color, design, and comfort of these i.Fairy Casper Blue lenses. I definitely would purchase from Lens Village in the future. They have a lot to offer and the prices are reasonable.

Left is my natural eyes and right is with the contacts on so you can see the big difference. The enlargement is insane yet gorgeous. I don't think my natural eye shape is small but I'd say average. These contacts really make my eyes look BIG!

What do you think? Any questions, let me know.

My Radiant Orchid Romance Makeup Look

Hello beautifuls,

I have for you today a makeup look inspired by Radiant Orchid the official color of the year for 2014. Click HERE if you would like to read the press release. So when I looked up the color for Radiant Orchid, I found the shades going from fuchsia, magenta, to soft pink purples, and lavender. It's quite exciting because I looooove those shades. They are my favorite makeup shades. Granted I love all colors, these are the shades I probably wear the most.

For this look, I wanted to capture these pink/purple hues and I wanted them blended together to give it that soft feminine touch and romantic feel. And to complement that look, I am also wearing these new contact lenses. They are the i.Fairy Casper Blue from LensVillage.com. Aren't they just fabulous? They're so big and mesmerizing. Perfect match for this look. Click HERE to read my review.

And here is the list of products I used to create this Radiant Orchid inspired look.

Face

Eyes
  • I primed my eyes first with Lorac Behind The Scenes Eye Primer
  • Coastal Scents Winterberry Eyeshadow Palette. I applied S16 (shimmery light purple) from the inner to the middle of my eyelids. I applied S08 (light lavender blue/purple) from the outer to the inner middle of my eyelids and blend both colors together to give them a seamless transition. I used ME14 (light/pale frosty pink) to highlight the brow bone and to brighten up the inner corners of my eyes.
  • I applied Make Up Forever #92 eyeshadow to the outer V and blended it toward the outer crease. I used S06 (shimmery pink) from the Coastal Scents palette over it as a transition color toward the brow bone.
  • I applied Inglot 359 matte (light blue pink) on the inner crease area and blended it toward the outer crease colors.
  • I lined the upper lash line with Physicians Formula Eye Booster Ultra Black.
  • I lined the waterline with Urban Decay 24/7 pencil Ink.
  • I smudged S06 and S08 on the lower lash line.
  • I filled my brows with Illamasqua cream eyeshadow Intrude and Anastasia Tinted Brow Gel Espresso.
  • ELF Natural Lash Kit

Lips
  • LA Colors Passion Flower (stay tuned for the review)

And lastly...I shopped my stash for all the Radiant Orchid Makeup colors that I already own and will be posting about them soon :)

What do you think of Radiant Orchid? Found any of them colors in your own stash too?
